Welcome to OJV Football!
Welcome to the football section of OJV website. Here you will find the latest football news, important information, photo gallery, practice schedules and a database of football knowledge compiled from the contributions made by the OJV Football Coaching Staffs and SFC. We are PROUD to be a part of the largest football community in the world! OJV Football supports the development of young athletes which is why Oakmont Jr. Vikings Youth Football has an essential presence in Northern California and beyond.
2013 Football Coaching Staff
Coach James Lockard has played football since he was 5 years old. He has an extensive knowledge of the game, and a passion for teaching young players. In 2012 he was a line coach for the Mighty Mite team where his son played his second year of football on the defensive line. Although his son is moving on to the next level up, James will continue coaching these entry level players of the Mighty Mite team, giving them the same start he had so many years ago! "I am very excited about this year and the Mighty Mite bowl at the end of the season!"
JR. PEE WEES:
Mike Alway is an Oakmont Alumni - graduating from OHS in 1988. He was an all around athlete - participating in Football, Baseball and Wrestling. He continued to play and took up coaching in College. In 1990, Mike graduated from Sierra College with his AA Degree in Liberal Arts, and went on to Long Beach State where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 1992 and a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration in 2007. Mike has continued to coach young athletes and in 2010 took up coaching the Varsity Running Backs at his alma mater - Oakmont High School. He is now a tenured coach at Oakmont and is very excited to work with our Junior Vikings - Jr. Pee Wee Team. Mike also brings his family to the OJV family, his wife of 13 years and four daughters, one of which will be playing for Mike on the Jr. Pee Wee team.
Coach Bill Clark is entering his sixth year coaching with the Oakmont Jr. Vikings. He has coached at the mighty mite level as an assistant coach, Defensive coordinator, and head coach, taking the 2010 Mighty Mites to an exciting 1st Round Playoffs! Coach Clark was most recently the Defensive Coordinator for the 2012 Junior Pee Wee team. "I am committed to being a positive role model for our youth and to teach a love for the sport of football while using the sport as a classroom to teach the life skills that will guide these young players as they become responsible, productive adult members of our community."
"I look forward to guiding the team to a positive season and sharing my football knowledge with this year's participants." Coach Kerrigan played high school and college football, in addition to his well rounded coaching opportunities for the last 30 years. He is well experienced in working with the Jr. Midget level athletes in both a teaching and coaching environment, and will help our athletes grow both mentally and physically through the season. Under Coach Kerrigan's guidance, our players will learn to understand how athletics can help better prepare them for their future.
A Roseville native, who has been coaching for ten years, Coach Dorado considers himself an "old school" coach. He is a defensive minded coach, and loves the game of football. You will often hear Coach Dorado yelling..."Hustle & Heart", which are the building blocks of his coaching philosophy. Coach Dorado joined the OJV family last season, and loves the family atmosphere. Coach Dorado is excited and honored to be coaching the OJV midget squad for the 2013 season!
